台達在1971年成立初期，洞悉當時電子零組件的龐大需求，15人的小工廠著力於生產電視零組件，供應市場上的不足，當時台灣電視機，在五年內就外銷了數百萬台，台達之主力產品─電視線圈與中周變壓器功不可沒。
Established in 1971, Delta noticed the immense demand for electronic components. Delta's small factory of only 15 people focused on producing television components to meet this strong market demand. Within 5 years, millions of televisions made in Taiwan were sold overseas, and Delta's main products, TV coils and IFTs, played an indispensable role in it.
交換式電源供應器是台達在1980年代業績大幅成長的關鍵。交換式電源供應器，跟傳統矽鋼片的變壓器比起來，不但輕薄短小，使後來電腦產品的體積更加精巧外，在當時效率至少可達60%之上。台達也決定自行開發風扇，經過不斷改良設計、製程，成功量產無刷直流風扇，目前為業界中的領導廠商。
Switching power supplies were the key to Delta's significant business growth in the 1980s. Compared with conventional linear power supplies made of silicon steel sheet, switching power supplies are smaller and lighter, and had conversion efficiencies exceeding 60% at that time. Delta also decided to develop its own fans and began mass-producing DC brushless fans, becoming the leading manufacturer in the industry.
